When was MISA/ASIM formed?
Is membership for the individual or the authority?
How many authorities do you represent? 5 who represent municipal governments in their region. We have around 3,900 municipalities in Canada and it is our desire to get all of them to join their local chapters.
Réseau de l’informatique municipale du Québec (RIMQ)
How many organisations in your geographic area that are eligible to join are not members?
How many members do you have?
We have 10 Board Members - 2 from each of the local chapters and we have access to members of the local chapters who will take on various projects on behalf of MISA/ASIM Canada. Currently we have two major projects under way - the Municipal Reference Model championed by MISA Ontario and Identity and Authentication Management being championed by MISA BC.
Do you have members not employed by the public sector? Not at the MISA/ASIM Canada level. The member chapters do have members from the vendor communities, but they do not have any voting rights.
Do you have any mission/objectives/scope for MISA/ASIM? Yes - MISA/ASIM Canada is the collective voice for its member associations on national issues affecting effective delivery of municipal services using information and technology.
Does MISA have any staff:
Primarily run by volunteers and we get some help from MISA Ontario's part-time employee.
Does MISA/ASIM support LOLA? Yes
Do you want to attend LOLA international events?
Yes we are interested in attending international events. It may take us a little time to get there due to us being a new organization with a limited budget at this time. We are in the process of developing funding opportunities and reviewing our fee structure.
